A friend sent this to me, and I wanted to share it with you... these verses have big implications for us as children of God, as women, as wives, and as moms. Hope it will encourage you as it does me!
"To enjoy your work and to accept your lot in life-- that is indeed a gift from God. The person who does that will not need to look back with sorrow to his past, for God gives him joy." ~Ecclesiastes 5:19-20, Living Bible
I love it! I've known too many women who don't find joy in motherhood or in being a wife. Of course, we all have those moments, I guess, but a woman who truly joyfully accepts her lot in life- well, it's a beautiful vision of God's grace and goodness. Whether a woman is joyful or resentful for having her family and home to care for, it is usually pretty evident in her words, her attitudes, and in the general atmosphere of her home.
Hi, I've been reading your blog for a few weeks. I'm really enjoying it.
Anyway, this is a gift that God has and keeps on giving to me. I'm a stay at home mom of a 13 month old son, and I love it. It's extremely difficult sometimes, but I wouldn't trade it for anything, even going back to the working world.
