God is teaching me to live out of who He says I am and to trust Him alone. He's teaching me to not be shamed by what others have called me or by things I may think about myself that aren't true. He's teaching me to rely on Him and know He's the only rock, fortress, and Truth, not man.

Thankfulness and trust.

Having been recently married, God is teaching me how selfish I am, and how poorly I love others. I'm being challenged every day to work hard for my home and my husband, and to love selflessly. I've really appreciated your encouragement and teaching, Jess! That post on being "busy at home" really challenged me.

The Lord is teaching me to let Him order my days, and not to get in knots about what is out of my control. Seems like I've been learning this lesson my entire adult life! :)

God is teaching me several things right now. We changed churches a year ago and I have been experiencing spiritual revival. The first thing He taught me was that sometimes we don't even know we're in a spiritual desert.
Most recently, this week He clearly showed me how much I need spiritual retreat, both small daily retreat and longer retreat.

God is trying to teach me many things such as controlling what comes out of my mouth and I have been too stubborn to yield to Him at times.

Being pregnant with number 4, and much more tired this time around, truly we are called to give our life for another.

That I must be meditating on God and His Word more--by pondering specific verses, practicing gratitude more intentionally, and considering who He is, what He's like, and what He does. 2 Cor 3:18; 2 Cor 4; all of Philippians :)
To make sure people are more important to me than whatever else is going on in my life.
The Lord is teaching my how deep my sin runs in certain areas of my life and the need for confession and repentance. Also, to lean on Him and trust during trials instead of being anxious by myself.

God is teaching me about the ugliness of my demanding heart and the selfishness and self-centereness of my thoughts. Paired with his sweet teaching of His grace and love for me. I appreciate His desire to grow me and to turn difficult situations into opportunities for growth.

I'm currently going through Beth Moore's study Breaking Free. This week I've been examining my heart to see if the fruit of love for God is present. Beth M. states, "one of the biggest and least addressed obstacles to truly loving God: Thinking I already do when, truth be told, I really don't."

So sorry I keep forgetting to put this at the end of my comment!
Learning humility and contentment... slowly. :)

Thanks for this series. I've really enjoyed your posts from this book, especially the quote about "soul velcro". That's such a great picture of what I want. I want things to stick.
As far as what I'm learning right now, our pastor challenged us a couple months ago to "live like God exists" which sounds so simple, but, in reality, I live "in control" most of the time. And, as God has been working on my heart regarding this, he keeps presenting both my husband and I with opportunities to take risks and believe that He is ultimately in control and I don't have to have it all figured out in advance.
OK, for the final drawing--
Out of 13 entries (Beth left 2 comments, and Erica won last night & didn't realize it so she left a comment on this one too)... Random.org chose #9.
CONGRATULATIONS, RACHEL B.

God has been showing me through my Bible reading how I am to reach those who really could use some biblical guidance. In 1 Thess 2 it talks about Paul living with the new believers so they could imitate his life, and to hear him share the gospel. So we need to share life with those we want to influence, as well as share the gospel. It helped me to see it in black and white.
