ReplyDeleteThanks for all these great links!
Sweet, my blog is on here! I honestly read through all the links twice before I realized it.
ReplyDeleteDoes being pregnant kill brain cells? It sure seems like it. From what I heard it's temporary, so that's good.
great stuff! i love a good read! it was cool to see you on facebook!
ReplyDeleteThe Happy Round-the-World Dancer is amazing! It does bring a big smile to your face, and it also makes you want to cry! Really neat!
ReplyDeleteAs long as you're in Turkey, why not experiment with some Middle-Eastern meatless meals? There are lots of good dishes made with lentils or chick peas. I like red lentils cooked for a long time a seasoned with a little cumin and garlic. I also like chick peas cooked with tomatoes, cumin, coriander and turmeric, as well as the classic hummus and falafel (both made with chick peas).
ReplyDeleteI cook meatless dinners most of the time. Here are some standbys at my house:
risotto cooked with vegetables (I stir in a little pesto for extra flavor)
any number of Indian recipes--Indian cookbooks are full of great vegetarian dishes
Thai-style curries or Chinese-style stir-fries with tofu and vegetables.
If you don't like Chinese or Thai or Indian food, you can find a huge number of meatless meal ideas in Claudia Roden's World of Jewish Food. Traditional Jews do not mix meat and dairy at the same meal, so lots and lots of tasty recipes have been developed that don't involve meat.

I always love your Show & Tells. Here are a few of my thoughts on what I have browsed through so far:
ReplyDelete-I agree that Boyhood & Beyond is a great book. My dh just finished going through it with our pre-teen sons. It really opened up some great discussion. Now they are going through Practical Happiness by the same author.
-I watched part of the Margaret Sanger interview. She just didn't have a peaceful countenance. How thought provoking and sad at the same time. Oh, and what's up with Mike Wallace's Phillip Morris commercial - LOL, time's sure have changed in that regard.
-Thanks for including the Happy World Dancer. That was hilarious, put a smile on my face :)
Keep up the great posts.
